Winter Along the 1000 Islands Parkway

Everything looks like it is asleep along the road that follows the St Lawrence River between Gananoque and Brockville Ontario.

The sailboats and powerboats are cocooned in white plastic and the river is silent as it is covered with ice from the Canadian to the American shore.

The Canadian span of the 1000 Islands Bridge seen in the background is still open as thousands of trucks pass over its spans carry a multitude of goods from one country to another.

It will soon be another tourist season here in the 1000 Islands region and the river will once more host a myriad of boats for sightseeing, fishing and just cruising.
